Don’t miss the Adventure Land Kegelsberg ("Erlebnisland Kegelsberg"), where the Alpine Coaster will whoosh you down into the valley at a speed of 40 km/h; an outdoor adventure pool will help you cool off afterwards. There are various options for sports enthusiasts, such as a beach volleyball court and a mini golf course. The local deer enclosure attracts animal lovers, while the observation tower offers a beautiful view of the bustling town and the surrounding area.

In addition to bobbin lace-making, hosiery production was the main activity here in earlier times. Pay a visit to the Erstes Deutsches Strumpfmuseum (“First German Hosiery Museum”) to discover some exciting artefacts and legacies from this era. You can also browse a host of fascinating objects from bygone days at the GDR Museum. The Pohl-Ströher Collection presents several special exhibitions: for example, impressive folk art, traditional “Weihnachtsberge” (Christmas model mountain scenes) and toys. The building is also home to the largest outdoor “Schwibbogen” (candle arch). No matter what your age, the puppet theatre will transport you into the world of fairy tales and mythical creatures, and there is exciting entertainment to be had at the intimate little cinema, the Gelenau Clubkino.
